About The Event

Heather McCornack is returning to HeartWaves Studio to teach a Vinyasa Flow class! Heather is originally from Minnesota and now lives in Manhattan, KS where she teaches yoga and voice. This level 1-2 class will focus on alignment and breath, linking the two as you flow between postures. Having studied and taught voice for twenty years, Heather’s teaching offers a unique understanding of breath and how it can support our physical and emotional health. She is a firm believer that yoga is for all bodies and includes body-positive language in her class. She has experienced how yoga not only strengthens the body and mind but brings them into a more peaceful relationship. Heather is a RYT-200 and trained with Jessa Voos, owner of Chapter Five Yoga.

Please join us for this donation class on Tuesday, November 26 from 6:30 pm - 7:45 pm. There is no cost for this class but HeartWaves will be accepting donations to benefit Healing Rhythmns Music Therapy. If you cannot attend the class, you can donate on the GoFundMe page called "Grateful Heartbeat Donations": gf.me/u/wqtvqs

"With the funds donated we will be using them to purchase heartbeat recording equipment that will be dedicated to the Healing Rhythms music therapist serving Albert Lea & Austin communities. This technology allows our music therapists to record the heartbeat of a patient, edit it in software that we have, and then record a song that is unique/special and meaningful to that patient & family and then use the heartbeat as the "drumbeat". We edit it and give it to the patient/family as a legacy gift. Here is a news story that aired about the process: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10156707688384245".  ~ Christina Wood

About Heather:

Heather McCornack is a Certified Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master, Movement Fundamentals practitioner, and musician from Manhattan, KS. Originally from Winona, MN, she has been singing, performing, and playing the piano since she was a little girl. The asana practice and a need to calm her mind was what first drew her to yoga. What she learned about her breath and how it affected her physical and emotional body inspired her to learn more and become a teacher. Heather strongly believes that yoga is for all bodies and her classes include body-positive language. She sees an asana practice as an opportunity to not just strengthen the body but to also gently strengthen the body's relationship with the heart and mind. Heather's teaching offers a unique understanding of breath on an anatomical, physiological, and emotional level and she loves to teach others to feel better in their bodies and minds by deepening their body-breath connection. She is in her final year of graduate school and is researching the effect of fascial release on the singer’s breath, vocal range and flexibility. Heather received her teacher training from Jessa Voos, creator of Chapter Five Yoga. She has also trained with Jill Miller, creator of Yoga Tune Up® and completed the Breath and Bliss training under her instruction.
